Maybe Dorothy Was Right About Not Looking Farther Than Your Own Backyard: Keys 1425 - 1428

Maybe Dorothy Was Right About Not Looking Farther Than Your Own Backyard: Keys 1425 - 1428

I had the great good fortune to visit my kids in Paris last month. Before leaving Canada I made plans to go to the big flea market there along with a myriad of other touristy and family things. I thought Paris would be a good place to get some interesting key making supplies. While I did pick up some things I was rather surprised that the jewelry I found in the flea market was not all that different from what I could find at home in Saskatoon.  Admittedly I didn't go through all the areas at the flea market and because we visited on a Monday not all of the stalls were open. Still.

I don't know what I expected. But it wasn't what I found.

And the things I found on the streets were pretty much the same types of things I find at home (lots of washers and Bic lighter tops).

Even the stores didn't seem that different (expensive couture aside). Maybe everything is everywhere in this internet age.

And maybe I just didn't look in the right places.

After I returned home I happened upon a big sale at a vintage jewelry store - bracelets and earrings half price and big bags of baubles for $5 - perfect!

Here are some keys from these adventures;

Key 1425 was started before the Paris trip and is made mostly of Saskatoon street finds.

Key 1426 is made mostly (shaft aside) of Paris flea market finds.

Key 1427 is made mostly (shaft aside) of vintage jewelry sale finds.

Key 1428 is made from a combination of Paris flea market and Saskatoon vintage jewelry finds.
