Keys 693 – 706 Remembering The 1945 Burning of a People

Last Tuesday I attended a peace ceremony in remembrance of the great death and Hibakusha (explosion-affected people) that started in Hiroshima and Nagasaki 71 years ago.

Key 694I made Key 694 in the hopes of creating something beautiful, exquisite, worthy of keeping; simple, complex – like a person. Then I used a heat gun to eliminate the key and leave nothing but a burn mark (which is all that remained of some people in 1945).

I find the water in the video comforting; just like I found the Taiko Drumming in the ceremony comforting.

I find no comfort whatsoever in war or the dropping of atomic bombs. I send the smoke from these keys up as a prayer for peace:

Key 693 remains Key 701
Key 693 remains Key 701
Key 696 remains Key 702
Key 696 remains Key 702
Key 697 remains Key 703

Key 698 remains Key 704
Key 699 remains Key 705

Key 700 remains Key 706
Key 700 remains Key 706
