Another series comes to a close- Ten Keys Ten Ways the Flower Series

I decided to lay out all the keys I made in the Ten Keys Ten Ways Flower Series. There wasn’t enough room in the house – luckily I’d cleaned out the garage earlier this summer! Here are some photos:

Here’s the list I followed so I’d remember what kind of flower keys to make…I referred to this list quite a bit when working through the series (mostly when it came time to number and document the keys):

Here are pictures of the keys by type; sometimes I made more than ten in a set:

Pressed

Smashed Prints

Smashed bits

Paint prints

Metallic Painted Bits

Negative Prints

pressed clay

Alcohol Ink Prints

I ended up making some keys out of the bits I’d dipped in alcohol ink – this series might be more aptly titled 11 Keys 11 Ways.

alcohol ink bits

Plaster casts

dried

Here are some pictures of each set of keys (well, it seems I don’t have a picture for set 9 – not sure what happened there):

Set 1

Set 2

Set 3

set 4

Set 5

Set 6

Set 7

Set 8

Set 10

Set 11

Now the keys are packed away in two boxes, in a drawer, in a dresser, behind the furnace, in the basement waiting patiently to be revisited.

all packed
