Keys 693 - 706 Remembering The 1945 Burning of a People

Key 693 Last Tuesday I attended a peace ceremony in remembrance of the great death and Hibakusha (explosion-affected people) that started in Hiroshima and Nagasaki 71 years ago.

Key 694I made Key 694 in the hopes of creating something beautiful, exquisite, worthy of keeping; simple, complex - like a person. Then I used a heat gun to eliminate the key and leave nothing but a burn mark (which is all that remained of some people in 1945).

I find the water in the video comforting; just like I found the Taiko Drumming in the ceremony comforting.

I find no comfort whatsoever in war or the dropping of atomic bombs. I send the smoke from these keys up as a prayer for peace:

Key 693 remains Key 701

Key 696 remains Key 702

Key 697 remains Key 703

Key 698 remains Key 704

Key 699 remains Key 705

Key 700 remains Key 706
