Keys 693 - 706 Remembering The 1945 Burning of a People
Last Tuesday I attended a peace ceremony in remembrance of the great death and Hibakusha (explosion-affected people) that started in Hiroshima and Nagasaki 71 years ago.
I made Key 694 in the hopes of creating something beautiful, exquisite, worthy of keeping; simple, complex - like a person. Then I used a heat gun to eliminate the key and leave nothing but a burn mark (which is all that remained of some people in 1945).
I find the water in the video comforting; just like I found the Taiko Drumming in the ceremony comforting.
I find no comfort whatsoever in war or the dropping of atomic bombs. I send the smoke from these keys up as a prayer for peace:
