Faux Stained Glass: Keys 1791 - 1800

I have very fond memories of making “stained glass” pictures with black construction paper and coloured cellophane in grades three and four. As I continue on my “making keys with childhood craft media” journey, I decided to make some faux stained glass using black cardstock, coloured cellophane, and a Silhouette Curio machine. I’ve been watching YouTube videos to get a better understanding of the Curio and how to use it. I still have plenty of more learning to do around the Curio but I’m very happy with the results of this latest series. And I’ve now made 1800 keys. That’s One Thousand and Eight Hundred. How great is that? Pretty great I say. Now i just have to get to that magic 2000th key and I’ll really be on my way.

Some of these keys were very finicky. I mostly used glue tape to hold the cellophane in place before I glued the cut out cardstock together. I did try glue dots on one of the keys but the dots were a bit too thick. And I see that in some cases the cellophane isn’t quite reaching the cardstock. Oh well. All I can do is the best I can do when I’m doing it.
