Keys 2390 - 2395: Back to the Workbench!
As much as I enjoy making keys out of digital photos and trying new methods of key-making, I must say that I really enjoy taking bits and scraps of cast offs and forming them together to make 3D sculptures of keys! Happy to be back on the workbench again. Here’s the latest:
Key 2390 is actually from my last batch of workbench keys; the resin needed some more work so it’s been patiently waiting until I mixed up some more…
The shaft of this key and the fancy gold bit at the top are from an old picture frame that I recently found when deep cleaning the basement storage area.
I was particularly chuffed with how well the brooch on the end of this key worked with the old earring I set it inside. Also liked how the chain along the shaft of the Other Side went with those bits.
A happy key for spring!
I popped the plastic “jewel” out of the top of this key and I really like how it looks without it.
Sometimes the simple little keys are the best. I did notice that the heart had gone off kilter but decided to leave it that way. Maybe I’ll go back and straighten it out one day.
Here are the keys waiting to be resined:
