Keys 737 - 738 Who Are These People?
Key 737 is a bit flamboyant. The swirls are from a bracelet that fell apart. I have no idea who the distinguished looking bearded man is on the other side of this key. I think he's Russian. He was born in 1823 and died in 1910. Here's his name: д н толстой (I found a Russian keyboard on-line). These letters translate to:
a n thick
but really - this is Leo Tolstoy! Hurray for Wikipedia! This reminds me - I need to make another donation as I use this site frequently to look up plots from TV series when I want to know what happens but no longer want to watch.
So now this begs another question - who are these people who would wear a Leo Tolstoy pin?
Sidebar: I think thick is a pretty good adjective for Tolstoy - but in a solid-dense-material way - not a thick as in you're not very bright kind of way...
Key 738 contains a locket with pictures of a bride and groom. I don't know where this locket came from. My best guess is that someone gave it to me or I got it in a grab bag of items at a sale. I'm pretty sure I would have looked inside if I had purchased it separately. I didn't realize the couple photos were there until I opened the locket to make this key. I can't tell what year the photo is from - could be anywhere from the 80's to present day.
Who are these people? Did they know their pictures were in the locket when they sold it or gave it away? Are they still married? Are they both still here even? I don't expect I'll find them on Wikipedia - but they look happy and I understand why someone would keep their images in a locket. Still don't get the Tolstoy pin though (great as he was).
Thanks for stopping by.
