Bit by Bit, Putting it Together: Keys 2567 - 2574
“Bit by Bit, putting it together
Piece by Piece, only way to make a work of art”
- Stephen Sondheim
It’s been another busy time of travel and work and navigating changes and challenges in my personal life. Nevertheless, I did manage to make some keys! Here are the latest:
I love this green sparkly shaft of Keys 2567 and 2568 that I found on the road one day while riding my bike.
Normally I avoid using plastic in my keys but I really enjoy the sparkly pieces I’ve incorporated into Key 2568.
These next keys are based on Key 2567 and were made in Procreate.
The umbrella part of this key was gifted to me by my son and daughter-in-law. I really liked using this copper bit in the key - it has such a lovely patina! They rescued it from some sort of end of its life shelf. I added a piece of clouds with stars jewelry that I flattened at the bottom. Then I added a few more bits that I found and/or had. I thought about my little grandson when I was making this. I wanted to make something whimsical with echoes of a baby. The beads at the bottom are a soft blue colour that is iridescent when the light moves over it, revealing greens and yellows. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Definitely a “set aside in the display case” and not a “pack up with the others in the closet” key.
